What It Is
The Constituents tab is where you can see every donor, contact, and organization in your database. It’s your starting point for understanding who’s in your community, what they’ve done, and how to engage them next.
Key Features
Table View (Default)
A flexible, spreadsheet-style layout showing key fields for each contact, including:
- Name & Organization
- Last Gift
- Total Giving
- Tags
- Assigned Fundraiser
- Last Contact / Next Step
You can sort, filter, and customize the visible columns to suit your workflow.
Segments
Segments are smart filters that automatically update based on donor data and activity. Use them to:
- Identify LYBUNTs (lapsed donors)
- Pull a list of donors over a certain giving threshold
- Track who opened your last campaign email
- Build workflows or cadences for outreach
Example segment: “$1K+ donors, not yet contacted this year”
Lists
Lists are static, saved groups of people you select manually (unlike dynamic segments). Use them for:
- Event RSVPs
- Board member contact groups
- Custom stewardship tracks
Example list: “Spring Gala Invitees 2025”
Who Uses This
- Gift Officers: To filter portfolios or find outreach targets
- Admins: To manage tags, segments, and assignments
- Marketers: To build audiences for emails or campaigns
- Leadership: To get a quick view of major donors or new supporters
Pro Tips
- Save your favorite filters as Pinned Views for quick access.
- Combine filters (e.g., gift amount + last contact) for nuanced targeting.
- Use segments to power your cadences or auto-populated dashboards.
A few things to understand about your Donors in Momentum:
- We currently anchor on individual donors as opposed to households or organizational/business account records.
- You can only add active, non-deceased constituent records to your Momentum Donors. If a donor is deceased or a foundation is no longer active, they will not appear in your Add Donors crm search. This prevents fundraisers from accidentally sending out a touchpoint to someone who cannot receive it.
