New Actions let you plan personalized outreach in advance—so you stay organized while Momentum queues the work and syncs everything to your CRM.
The New Action feature in Momentum helps you proactively plan and personalize donor outreach—whether you're sending an email, preparing a call, or drafting a letter or card. You decide who you’re contacting, when you want to do it, what you want to say, and how you want to send it—all while Momentum keeps everything synced to your CRM.
Actions you create won’t be sent automatically. Instead, they’ll appear in your Inbox queue a few days before the selected date, giving you time to review, tailor, and send when you're ready.
What the New Action Form Includes
When you create a new action, you’ll complete four simple steps:
1. Who
Choose the recipients of your outreach:
- Individual constituents
- A group from a Segment or List
- Use the Exclude tool to remove anyone you don’t want included
2. When
Pick the date this outreach should happen.
- This is when you want to send the message or complete the touchpoint
- The action will appear in your Inbox queue 3 days before the selected date
3. What
Choose the content or messaging approach:
- Write a one-off message and give the AI a quick prompt
- Select a saved AI Template or Mail Merge Template
- Assign a full Cadence if the donor is part of a longer journey
4. How
Select the outreach method:
- Email – You’ll tailor and send it through Momentum via your connected inbox
- Call – Momentum will generate a call task with suggested talking points
- Letter or Handwritten Card – You’ll send these manually, and Momentum will help draft the content and log the interaction
What Happens Next?
Once you create the action:
- It appears in your Inbox queue 3 days before the scheduled date
- For emails, you’ll review, tailor, and press send manually
- For calls, cards, or letters, you’ll complete the action and log the result
- Every completed action is synced back to your CRM, automatically
Optional: Check "Follow up if no reply" to generate a reminder if the donor doesn’t respond within a set window.
Why Use New Actions?
- Stay ahead of donor plans without relying on memory
- Organize group outreach without losing the personal touch
- Plan strategic follow-ups or stewardship touches
- Prep outreach on behalf of teammates in Assistant Mode
