Momentum’s LinkedIn Listener uses a donor’s LinkedIn profile to supplement the donor information from your CRM for donor research and outreach. After you add the donor’s LinkedIn profile URL, Momentum generates research summaries of the donor’s professional background, interests, volunteer experience, recent life events, fundraising tips, and potential connections for introductions.
Overview
The LinkedIn Listener pulls information to help you prepare for a more personal conversation. Depending on the donor’s privacy settings and information available from the profile, the LinkedIn Listener provides:
- Summary: An overview of the donor’s professional history, interests, volunteer experience, and other relevant profile details. Additionally, the Summary includes two suggested outreach topics based on the donor’s character, relationships, and interests (not life events). Each includes a short title, an email prompt, and an explanation of how it can help you build a relationship.
- Latest Updates: Up to two relevant life events from the past six months. Each includes the event date, a brief description, how the event can inform a major gift approach, and a suggested email prompt.
- Momentum Insights: Up to six fundraising tips for approaching the donor. Each tip explains the assumptions and evidence behind it.
- Network Analysis: A shortlist of the donor’s connections that may help you request a warm introduction, with an explanation of what each relationship may tell you about the donor and how you can use it.
How Do I Add It to a Record?
- Open the Constituent record in Momentum and scroll to the LinkedIn Listener field.
- Paste the LinkedIn profile URL to the field. You must add each donor’s LinkedIn URL manually.
- Select the checkmark to start the Listener and wait for the enrichment to complete. It may take a momentum to scrape the whole profile.
- When it finished running, select View Full Summary to review the information, suggestions, and Network Analysis results. Use the information as context when planning or drafting outreach. Click the purple buttons under Summary or Latest Updates to draft an email based on those suggestions.

After Momentum enriches a donor record, the donor’s LinkedIn Bio Summary and Momentum Insights fundraising tips are available to Momentum’s AI Writer.
