How Prospecting Works
Prospecting is a workflow configuration tool, designed for intentional outreach to unqualified or lightly engaged constituents. Once configured, Momentum uses your settings to surface the top prospects in your queue each week, prioritized by Giving Score.
To get started:

Enable Prospecting
Create a new prospecting workflow from your Workspace tab. -
Assign a Segment or List
Choose the pool of people you want to work through—like a list of event attendees or a segment of new donors. -
Choose a Template or Cadence
Select the outreach you want to use:- A one-time template (AI or mail merge)
- Or a multi-step cadence with defined touchpoints

Set Your Weekly Goal
Tell Momentum how many people you want to reach out to per week (e.g., 3, 5, 10). We'll handle the pacing for you.
Prioritization with Giving Score
Once configured, Momentum ranks the people in your list or segment using our Giving Score—a smart algorithm based on:
- Giving history and recency
- Engagement signals (email, event, calls, etc.)
- Assignment and outreach status
Each week, the top-ranked prospects surface as recommendations in your Inbox. You’ll see them clearly labeled and can tailor/send the message just like any other action.
