The User & Org Bio settings teach Momentum’s AI to write in your voice and reflect your institution’s values—so every draft feels personal, authentic, and on-brand.
Your User and Org Bio settings in Momentum help our AI write in a way that reflects you—your voice, your style, and your institution’s values. By filling out these two simple bios, you empower the AI to draft emails, letters, and other messages that sound human, personal, and on-brand.
Think of this section as your digital assistant’s “cheat sheet” for sounding like you.
What Is the User Bio?
The User Bio tells the AI how you, the fundraiser, like to communicate.
It helps tailor the tone, voice, and personal details used in your drafts—so the AI can write like your most helpful assistant, not a robot.
What to Include
- Your name and role (e.g., Major Gift Officer for the College of Business)
- Your tone or style (e.g., warm, concise, upbeat, formal)
- Any common themes or personal touches you include when communicating with donors (e.g., favorite alumni stories, campus updates, areas of focus)
Example: “I’m a regional gift officer who connects with alumni and parents across the East Coast. I write in a warm, relational tone, and often reference recent campus events and student impact. I like to highlight shared history and invite donors to feel part of the story.”
What Is the Org Bio?
The Org Bio gives the AI essential context about your institution—what it stands for, how it speaks, and what it’s known for. This ensures that messages about your programs, priorities, and values are phrased in a consistent, professional way.
What to Include
- Your organization’s mission or core message
- Key programs, priorities, or themes (e.g., scholarships, research, student success, athletics)
- Preferred voice or language style (e.g., inspirational, formal, welcoming, concise)
Example: “Radford University is a student-focused public university known for hands-on learning and alumni engagement. We emphasize opportunity, belonging, and Highlander pride in everything we do. Our fundraising supports scholarships, faculty excellence, and student life.”
How to Set Up Your Bios
-
Go to the Workspace Tab
You’ll find this in the left-hand menu of Momentum. -
Click “User & Org Bio”
This section lets you edit both bios side by side. -
Fill in the Fields
Start with a few sentences each. Don’t worry—there’s no need to be fancy or perfect. A conversational description works best. -
Click “Save Changes”
Your AI writer will immediately begin using this information to generate tailored messages.
Why It Matters
When you provide your bios, Momentum’s AI can:
- Write like you – using the tone and content you’d naturally choose
- Describe your organization accurately and consistently
- Save time by creating high-quality drafts that need minimal editing
- Build trust with donors through more authentic, human messages
Keep It Updated
Your bios don’t have to be perfect the first time. As your messaging evolves—or as your team grows—come back and update them to reflect new themes, campaigns, or communication styles.
TL;DR
The User and Org Bio is where you teach the AI to talk like you—and about your institution. The better you describe your voice and values, the better your donor messages will be.
